# How does the "Approved" flag work?

The _Approved_ flag is a manual marker you can set for each translation in BabelEdit. It's never changed automatically, but you have several options to manage it:

* Click the icon next to a translation to toggle its _Approved_ flag.
* Use **Tools** → **Change approved flags...** to update multiple flags at once.
* Export and re-import translations (including their _Approved_ flags) to CSV or Excel using the _Export_ / _Import_ feature.

To update _Approved_ flags for a specific set of translations:

1. Use _Set Filter_ to narrow down your selection.
2. Press _Ctrl+A_ (_Cmd+A_ on macOS) to select all filtered entries.
3. Go to _Tools_ → _Change approved flags..._, and make sure "change selected items only" is checked.
