# On startup, don't open last project - Show "New Project" screen instead.

You can configure the startup behavior in the _Preferences_ dialog:

* **Disable "Reopen last projects"** to start with a screen where you can create a new project or open one of your recent BabelEdit projects.
* **Enable** this option to automatically reopen all projects that were open when BabelEdit was last closed.
