# Is a Docker/CI license a subscription-based license?

A Docker/CI license is purchased for a one-year period. By default, it expires after that time, and you'll receive a reminder email to renew it.

If you prefer automatic renewal, you can enable Auto-Renewal during checkout to avoid manual renewals each year.
