# Does TexturePacker's .tps file uses absolute paths?

TexturePacker stores all sprite and smart folder references as **relative paths** in the .tps file, not as absolute file paths. If you add the .tps file into your version management system together with your sprites, everything should work when you check it out on another system, in another root directory.

When reorganizing your directory structure, ensure that the relative paths between the .tps file and the linked sprites or folders remain unchanged.
