How is the Translation Credits usage calculated?

With Machine Translation or Pre-Translate in BabelEdit, Translation Credits are based on the number of characters in the translation string. For example, "Hello" counts as 5 credits.

ConsistencyAI is more costly and its credit usage can't be predicted upfront. It analyzes both the source and target text, modifies it, and provides explanations. The AI service bills us based on the number of characters sent and received. The final number of credits may vary from our estimate and reflects the actual cost from the AI provider.
