Installer shows expired certificate – is it still safe to use?

Although the certificate appears expired, the installer is still fully valid and safe to use.

This is because the installer was digitally signed with a timestamp at a time when the certificate was still valid. Timestamping ensures that even after a certificate expires, the code remains trusted - as long as it was signed while the certificate was active.

This process is standard for all major certificate authorities, including DigiCert. It allows systems to distinguish between code that was legitimately signed before expiration and code that should not be trusted.
